Why disclosure matters
When you're paid or receive benefits to promote something, your audience deserves to know. Disclosure builds trust and is required by law in many countries. Failure to disclose can result in account penalties.
💰 What Counts as Advertising
Advertising on Taystify includes any content where you receive payment, free products, services, or other compensation in exchange for promoting a brand, product, or service.
Examples of advertising:
- Paid posts promoting a restaurant or food brand
- Free meals or products in exchange for a review or mention
- Sponsored content created for a brand campaign
- Posts featuring products you received for free with the expectation of promotion
🏷️ What Counts as Branded Content
Branded content is any post that features or is influenced by a business partner for an exchange of value. This includes partnerships, sponsorships, and collaborations.
Examples of branded content:
- Partnership posts with restaurants or food brands
- Content created as part of a brand ambassador program
- Posts featuring products provided by a brand for promotional purposes
- Collaborative content with businesses or influencers
✅ Disclosure Requirements
All advertising and branded content must be clearly and conspicuously disclosed. Disclosures must be easy to notice, understand, and not hidden or buried in hashtags.
How to disclose properly:
- Use clear language like "Ad", "Sponsored", "Paid Partnership", or "Gifted"
- Place disclosure at the beginning of your post, not at the end
- Don't hide disclosure in a long list of hashtags
- Use Taystify's built-in branded content tools when available
Examples of proper disclosure:
- "Ad: Loving this new menu at [Restaurant]"
- "Paid partnership with [Brand]"
- "Gifted meal - thank you [Restaurant]!"
- "Sponsored by [Brand]"
When in doubt, disclose
If you're unsure whether something requires disclosure, err on the side of transparency. It's better to over-disclose than risk misleading your audience or violating advertising laws.
🚫 Prohibited Advertising
Certain types of advertising and promotional content are not allowed on Taystify, regardless of disclosure.
You may not advertise or promote:
- Alcohol, tobacco, vaping products, or drugs
- Gambling, betting, or casino services
- Adult content or services
- Weapons, explosives, or dangerous items
- Misleading health claims or unproven medical treatments
- Get-rich-quick schemes, pyramid schemes, or scams
- Counterfeit or illegal products
- Content that violates our Community Standards
🔗 Affiliate Links & Promotions
Affiliate links and promotional codes are allowed on Taystify, but they must be disclosed and used responsibly.
Rules for affiliate content:
- Clearly disclose when you use affiliate links or earn commissions
- Only promote products or services you genuinely recommend
- Don't spam affiliate links or promotional codes
- Be honest about your experience with the product or service
- Don't mislead users about pricing, discounts, or availability
Authenticity matters
Your audience trusts your recommendations. Only promote products and services you've actually tried and believe in. Promoting low-quality or harmful products damages your credibility and violates our policies.
🤝 Sponsored Partnerships
Sponsored partnerships, challenges, and campaigns are welcome on Taystify when properly disclosed and aligned with our community values.
Guidelines for sponsored partnerships:
- Clearly label all sponsored content at the beginning of your post
- Maintain editorial control over your content
- Be transparent about the nature of the partnership
- Ensure sponsored content aligns with Taystify's values and policies
- Don't make false or exaggerated claims about the sponsor's products
⚖️ Enforcement & Consequences
Violations of our advertising and branded content policies may result in content removal, account restrictions, or permanent suspension.
Potential consequences:
- Warning and requirement to add proper disclosure
- Removal of undisclosed sponsored content
- Temporary restriction on posting privileges
- Permanent account suspension for repeated or severe violations
- Reporting to relevant regulatory authorities if required by law
Legal requirements
Many countries have laws requiring disclosure of paid partnerships and advertising. Violating these laws can result in fines and legal action from regulatory authorities. Taystify's policies help you stay compliant, but you are ultimately responsible for following the laws in your jurisdiction.
